1. Acceptance of Terms
By making a donation through the Forest Focus website (“Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before completing any donation. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please refrain from making a donation.
2. Nature of Donations
All donations made through the Forest Focus Platform are voluntary contributions intended to support reforestation, forest conservation, and environmental sustainability initiatives. By donating, you acknowledge the following:
- Donations are non-binding financial contributions and do not entitle the donor to goods, services, equity, or ownership interests.
- Forest Focus reserves the right to allocate donated funds at its discretion to best fulfill its environmental mission.
- Donations do not guarantee specific outcomes or the completion of any particular project.
3. Eligibility
To make a donation through the Platform, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age, or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- Have the legal authority to use the payment method provided.
- Provide accurate and truthful information during the donation process.
Forest Focus reserves the right to refuse or reverse any donation that violates these requirements.
4. Payment Processing
All financial transactions are processed by third-party payment processors. By making a donation, you agree to their respective terms of service. Forest Focus does not store your full payment card details. Transaction records will reflect the donation amount and may include a brief description identifying the Platform.
5. Use of Donated Funds
5.1 General Allocation
Donated funds are used to support Forest Focus’s core mission, which includes but is not limited to:
- Tree planting and reforestation programs.
- Forest monitoring, research, and data collection.
- Community engagement and environmental education.
- Platform maintenance and operational costs.
5.2 Restricted Donations
If you wish to designate a donation for a specific project or campaign, please indicate this clearly at the time of donation. Forest Focus will make reasonable efforts to honour designated donations but does not guarantee that funds will be used exclusively for the stated purpose if circumstances change.
6. Tax Considerations
Forest Focus does not provide tax advice. Depending on your jurisdiction, donations may or may not be tax-deductible. You are solely responsible for determining the tax implications of your donation. We recommend consulting a qualified tax professional. A donation receipt will be issued upon request and may be used for your own records.
7. Donor Privacy
By making a donation, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. Your information will be used to process the donation, communicate with you, and (where applicable) issue tax receipts. Forest Focus will not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except as required by law or as necessary to process your transaction.
8. Recurring Donations
Where a recurring donation option is selected, you authorize Forest Focus to charge your payment method at the specified interval. You may cancel a recurring donation at any time by contacting us at support@forestfocus.org or through your account settings. Cancellation requests must be received at least 5 business days before the next scheduled charge to take effect for that billing cycle.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Forest Focus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your donation or use of the Platform. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to a donation shall not exceed the amount of the donation made.
10. Modifications to These Terms
Forest Focus reserves the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on the Platform with a revised effective date. Continued use of the donation feature following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Forest Focus is registered. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
